Vehicles in German Town Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Police mentioned they were notified by a man who noticed a automobile in Hanau marked with reddish fluid

Around fifty vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.

Officers report they were notified during the night on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.

The liquid had been placed in the shape of a swastika, they added.

Law enforcement then discovered many other marked cars and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement say initial examinations suggest the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; officials are currently not informed of any harm in relation with the event," they added.

Local authorities announced they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have asked to the public for information.

An important representative commented the vandalism rendered him stunned and had to be solved quickly.

"This act affects the core of Hanau and revives the wounds of the far-right violent incident half a decade ago," he wrote on social media, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a shooter targeting residents of immigrant origin in 2020.
