Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced increased attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while local people in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and encountered interruptions to water supplies, as stated by municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a young boy was killed in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, according to local officials.

Russian forces has increased strikes on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from allies to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and enforcing penalties," he wrote in a online statement.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen rockets attacked energy facilities, characterizing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region came under intense attacks during nighttime hours. A young boy lost their life and three other people were hurt.

The attacks succeed evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to spot.

Government officials told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already impacting energy systems.

He said energy workers and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
